Foreign ministers of Singapore, Malaysia & Indonesia meet in Brunei over haze - Channel News Asia

SINGAPORE: The foreign ministers of Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, who are in Brunei to attend the ASEAN ministerial meetings, are having a trilateral meeting to discuss the ongoing haze problem.

Those involved are Singapore's K Shanmugam, Indonesia's Marty Natalegawa and Malaysia's Anifah Aman.

The haze issue is also expected to be discussed at the main ministerial meeting, which begins on Sunday.

ASEAN foreign ministers will have a half-day retreat to discuss challenges facing the grouping and also address housekeeping issues.

Though the haze has eased over the past few days, affected countries are concerned that it is likely to last till the end of the dry season in September or October.

Singapore has also presented a diplomatic note to Indonesia to name the Singaporean companies allegedly involved in starting the fires at the plantations in Sumatra.
